Sacramental Preparation

We believe that all are called to be on a spiritual journey.  What matters is not where a person is on that journey, but actually being on the journey itself. We welcome all people regardless of the stage of their spiritual life, their struggles, or their past.  What we expect of each person is that they be willing to take the "next step" on their journey of faith.  The journey we are invited to is lifelong and we don't believe anyone completes it on this side of Eternity.

Whether you have been journeying at Christ the King Parish for a long time or have recently joined us, we would like to invite you to consider taking a concrete next step.

Baptism- For infant baptism, we offer a 3-part Baptism Workshop Series for parents who want to have their child (up to age 7) baptized.   Childcare and light lunch provided.  The next Baptism Workshop is scheduled for May 19 from 9am-12:30 pm. This is all 3-parts.  Please register for the workshop here.

First Reconciliation & First Eucharist - Contact Patti Cassidy, Director of Discipleship, at 406-728-3845 ext. 228 or email   If you're interested in the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist for your child, and he/she has participated in at least one year of Sunday School, either at Christ the King or at your previous parish if you're new to CTK, we will begin with a parent orientation meeting on Nov. 6 at 6:30 pm. Meanwhile, please contact Patti to schedule a personal visit.

Preparation for a Sacrament at Christ the King may begin with Alpha. Those who come to Alpha will find a welcoming community of people who strive to be real and authentic and allow you to be the same. We've found, over time, that when we allow people to be themselves and ask their questions, focus on building relationships and rely on the Holy Spirit, lives are transformed.
Alpha Come & See is Feb. 12 at 5:30-7:30 pm. Meal & childcare provided.  You can sign up here for Alpha.

For more information on any of these Sacraments, please Contact Patti Cassidy, Director of discipleship, at 406-728-3845 ext. 228, or email

RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) - In the sacraments of Christian initiation we are freed from the power of darkness and joined to Christ's death, burial and resurrection.  We receive the Spirit of filial adoption and are part of the entire people of God in the celebration of the memorial of the Lord's death and resurrection. (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults General Introduction #1)

RCIA is the normal way for unbaptized persons and those who have been baptized in another Christian tradition to become Catholic. The Rite of Christian Initiation is designed for adults (and children of at least seven years of age) who, after hearing the mystery of Christ proclaimed, consciously and freely seek the living God and enter the way of faith and conversion as the Holy Spirit opens their hearts. By God's help they will be strengthened spiritually during their preparation and at the proper time will receive the sacraments fruitfully. (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults Introduction #1)

Beginning Sunday, October 15, there will be monthly opportunities for individuals to meet someone from the RCIA Team and inquire about the faith.  "Explorations & Inquiry" is a discussion group that meets at 10:05 a.m.(right after the 9:00 Mass) one Sunday per month for anyone interested in finding out more about RCIA, the Catholic Faith, or adult Confirmation.  (3/18/18, 4/29/18 are the dates for future Explorations & Inquiry meetings.) Coffee and donuts are provided. Click the link below if you'd like someone from the parish to contact you with more information on the Catholic Faith or RCIA. We are eager to talk to you.

Alpha is also a good place to start the inquiry process.
